How Much Does a Bad Hiring Decision Really Cost You? - Tuesday, October 14, 2008

T
he revolving door of employee turnover is a challenge facing many businesses. Most businesses do not know how much turnover really costs them and don't know how to fix the problem. Many experts agree that by simply multiplying an employee's annual salary times 5 will cover productivity loss, hiring and recruiting costs, training, unemployment and the other many costs associated with turnover. However, will it cover the "opportunities lost cost" associated with an investment in a bad fit?

Employee turnover often begins with a poor hiring decision.

Companies that use an interview, as their only hiring tool, only have a 14% chance of making a good hire. Studies have shown that the use of pre-employment assessment tools can increase your chance of hiring the right person the first time and decreasing your turnover.

Do you know how much you would you save if you could increase your chances of making a good hiring decision to 75%?

We can tell you!

Contact MRP Consulting, LLC for a free analysis of your turnover cost. After the analysis, we can recommend a cost effective solution, which will lower your turnover expense, improve your chances of hiring the right person the first time and deliver an immediate return on your investment.

Let MRP Consulting, LLC help you align your talent to your business objectives.

Selection process (prevention)

Selection means hiring the right person the first time.  MRP Consulting, LLC helps your company understand and objectively measure core competencies, behaviors and interests of each applicant, and aligns their capabilities to successful employees in your company. Our employment tests ensures applicants fit the job the first time and helps your company leverage the potential for increased profits by realizing efficiencies in human capital investment.

Education (enhancing skills)

Education refers to context, general information, and skill development regarding change and the new way things will be done.  It involves setting expectations and providing the tools needed to meet those requirements.  At the individual level, “Education” particularly addresses professionals who are internally motivated and exhibit a low resistance to change, generally requiring only context and tools to be successful in their roles.

Coaching (changing behavior)

Executive and line managers set the tone and direction for the organization moving forward.  Effective “Coaching” requires a concentrated effort by management to re-enforce processes and behaviors required by the new environment.  At a micro-level, “Coaching” especially aids those professionals who are internally motivated, and exhibit difficulty dealing with change.
